adjective: disreputable or sordid in a rakish or appealing way. "The louche world of the theater."
I've seen this word in print, in ancient texts, but never encountered it "in the wild" until last week, when Richard Walker, speaking for the Marxist School of Sacramento (listen to the recording here) casually dropped it into his presentation.
I find this so exciting that I'm going to record my encounters with it from now on. (I don't anticipate much activity on this post, though.)
